Biography
Bernadette Kelly was appointed Director General, Market Frameworks, now known as Markets and Local Growth, in December 2010. Prior to this she had been Director General, Fair Markets, since March 2010. She is also the sponsor Board Member for the Insolvency Service and Companies House.
Before then, Bernadette was Executive Director, Housing, at the Department of Communities and Local Government. She has spent much of her career in the former Department of Trade and Industry, including as Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State and as Director, Corporate Law and Governance in Fair Markets.
She has also worked in the Treasury, No.10 Policy Unit and the Cabinet Office.
