Biography
Howard Orme has been Director General, Finance and Commercial since July 2009. Prior to this he worked for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), where he managed the Group Finance Directorate, was responsible for Finance Policy & Practices and oversaw the development and implementation of several large and complex programmes.
Prior to joining DWP in 2006, Howard held a number of global and international leadership roles in senior strategy, planning, and analysis with Allied Domecq and Unilever. These included Group Financial Controller, Senior Vice President, Global Strategy, and Chief Financial Officer for a major overseas business. During this time he and his family lived in Brazil for six years.
Howard is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant and participates in CIMA’s Finance Transformation Network Forum focussing on leading practices in business partnering, decision support and shared services.
