Overview
The Department’s statisticians have a wide range of responsibilities. They publish a range of National and official statistics on further and higher education, building materials, construction prices and costs, sub-national economic performance and employment, the business population, innovation, and trade union membership. BIS statisticians also provide advice and briefing to Ministers and policy divisions on all these subjects as well as on a range of macro-economic, industry, trade and labour market statistics.
