This report investigates how we can best manage the use of drugs in the future for the benefit of the individual, community and society. It considers what scientific and technological advances might deliver in the area of brain science and psychoactive substances over the next 20 years.

The report focuses on:

  • the development of new treatments for mental health
  • the effects of recreational drugs and treatments for drug addiction
  • the use of cognitive enhancing drugs to improve the performance of the brain
