UK and Iceland to exchange Volcano information
21 Dec 2010

UK and Iceland to exchange information and resources relating to volcanic eruptions in Iceland.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on the 15th December, on behalf of BIS, by the UK Ambassador in Iceland with the Permanent Secretary for the Icelandic Ministry of the Environment, covering the exchange of information and resources relating to volcanic eruptions in Iceland. This MOU arises from the work of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) which was established during the eruption of Eyjafjallajökull in April 2010 and was chaired by the Government Chief Scientific Advisor, Sir John Beddington. SAGE met four times during this time, and the minutes are now available.
