Launch of the cities programme report

On the 12th October 2009 Professor Beddington spoke at the launch of the Tyndall Centre Cities Programme report. Professor Beddington’s speech was entitled, “Global Challenges in the 21st Century: The Role of Cities” and focussed on the effect of increasing urbanisation on the global challenges of increasing population, increasing demand for food, energy and water and climate change. He used Singapore and Mumbai as examples of cities that have used different methods to tackle these issues.
