Department for International Development


The SEA review for the Department for International Development (DFID) was carried out between November 2010 and April 2011. The review considers how effectively DFID uses science and engineering in its strategy, policy and decision making, with its high-level scope guided by the SEA Framework. The report highlights good practice within the Department and also makes twelve (12) strategic recommendations aimed at supporting it to enhance its use of science and engineering.

The review was led by an Independent Expert Panel, appointed by the Government Chief Scientific Adviser:
