How can I search for company insolvency proceedings?
To find out if a company is subject to insolvency proceedings you can search the Companies House website at www.companieshouse.gov.uk under “Search company information”. This will tell you whether a company is listed as active, in liquidation or administration or if there is a proposal to strike off (dissolve) the company. If it is in liquidation or administration you can click on the link “Insolvency History” to bring up details of the official receiver or insolvency practitioner who is dealing with the matter.
You can also search for company insolvency proceedings using the London Gazette notices search at www.london-gazette.co.uk .The London Gazette publishes a variety of insolvency notices including winding up petitions and orders and details of the appointment of administrators and liquidators.
You can find full contact details for a particular insolvency practitioner (IP) from the searchable database on our website at www.bis.gov.uk/insolvency under “Find an Insolvency Practitioner”.
