Voltage rating

An item is out of scope of the WEEE Regulations if it is "designed for use with a voltage rating not exceeding 1,000 volts for alternating current and 1,500 volts for direct current". The voltage rating of a piece of equipment is its input voltage therefore this exclusion should only be applied to equipment with an input voltage above the limits specified.

Designed for use with a voltage rating exceeding 1000 volts for alternating current and 1500 volts for direct current

Designed for use with a voltage rating "not" exceeding 1000 volts for alternating current and 1500 volts for direct current
