The European Corporate Governance Forum
The European Corporate Governance Forum was set up by the Commission in October 2004. It is a committee of 15 members meeting every 4-6 months. Its objectives are to examine best practice in EU Member States and to provide strategic advice to the Commission. The UK members of the Forum are Peter Montagnon, Director of Investment Affairs, Association of British Insurers and Trelawny Williams Director of Corporate Governance Fidelity International.

EU Corporate Governance Consultations
On 2 June 2010 the Commission published a consultation about corporate governance on financial institutions and remuneration policies. The deadline for responses was 1 September and an analysis of the replies is expected before the end of the year.
A further consultation about corporate governance is the wider corporate sector is expected in spring 2011.
