Simple Support, Better Business: business support in 2010

 Solutions for Business logo

Simplifying publicly funded business support is about better service for customers. Simple support, better business: business support in 2010 (PDF, 139KB) outlines what the support landscape will look like in the future for businesses.

By 2010, a coordinated, quality system will have increased the take-up of support schemes and the outcomes for business, alongside making provision targeted and cost-efficient for funders.

Businesses will soon feel the difference as the launch of new schemes will complete no later than March 2009. In addition, key Government information, diagnosis and brokerage services has moved to Business Link.

In this scenario, businesses contacting Business Link – be it via phone, face-to-face or web – will be led directly to personalised, targeted, useful support from a range of sources that will help them with generic business issues.

The Budget 2008 and Enterprise: unlocking the UK’s talent reinforced the on-going importance of simplifying publicly funded business in order to help businesses and entrepreneurs with start-up and growth.
