Export Control Films
Export and Trade Controls impact a wide range of sectors and products. As an exporter (or trader) you should be aware of your responsibilities. To help you understand more about export controls you can view two introductory films about export controls.
The Export Control Organisation has produced two films which provide a short overview of the controls and your responsibilities as an exporter.
"Responsible exporting"
A short introductory film which emphasises that Export Control is a serious responsibility which affects us all. Find out more and take appropriate action where necessary.
“Open Licence Audits Explained”
This film explains what to expect from and how to prepare for ECO Compliance Audits which are a requirement of using either an Open General Export Licence (OGEL) or Open Individual Export Licence (OIEL). You can watch the film online at:

What to do next?
The ECO is here to help. Practical guidance and advice to exporters (whether individuals, academics, sole-traders or companies) is available on the export control pages on the Businesslink website. From here you can access the SPIRE licensing database (to apply for a licence), licensing and rating advice and details of the legislation.
Alternatively you can sign up for the ECO's Notices to Exporters email service or in case of a general enquiry contact the ECO.
