This is a list of some of the ways employers recruit professionals. Some (for example, 'the milkround') will be more applicable to larger organisations. All these recruitment channels have advantages and limitations, so you may consider using a mixture of channels. However, be aware that if you recruit through several channels you may receive duplicate applications

  • who do you want to see the advert?
  • what is your budget?
  • how quickly do you need a response?
  • are you recruiting for a specific one-time vacancy (which may involve a one-off, short-term recruitment drive) or recruiting large numbers of graduates on a regular basis (which may necessitate maintaining ongoing links with schools, universities, careers services)?
