The UK and China re-affirmed their commitment to developing stronger links in higher education, as Ministers took part in the fourth UK-China Education Summit in London on 24 June 2009. The event followed the last UK-China Education Summit in Beijing in November 2007. [Former] Minister for Business, Innovation and Skills, Pat McFadden, was joined by Minister Zhou Ji from the Chinese Ministry of Education, as they discussed the challenges facing education systems in both countries.
The Summit, following on from a reception hosted by [former] Higher Education Minister David Lammy, focused on collaborative initiatives already in play and good practice around study and work experience. View the Joint Statement (PDF, 438 Kb) here.
