STEM in schools

Everyone deserves a good science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education. We work with the Department for Education to make sure that science and maths education is stretching, stimulating and fit for purpose.

STEM subjects will be vital to underpin our future economic prosperity. Everyone will need a good STEM education to make sure they can understand the issues that affect them and can engage in a more scientifically literate society. BIS works very closely with the Department for Education on a range of issues that affect science and mathematics education.
