Scholarship funding available for International Space University (ISU)

The UK Space Agency has just announced the 2012 round of its competitive scholarship scheme to support UK citizens who wish to attend the International Space University's nine-week Space Studies Programme and one-year MSc programme.
2012 Space Studies Programme (SSP)
Any UK citizen wishing to apply for support for the 2012 Space Studies Programme should apply to the ISU by 31 January 2012 (The deadline for those not applying for financial aid is 31 March 2012).
The Space Studies Programme will run from 4 June 2012 to 3 August 2012 and will be hosted at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) and NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC).

MSc Programmes
Anyone wishing to apply for support for a Masters should apply to the ISU by 15 March 2012 (The deadline for those not applying for financial aid is the 30 June 2012). The MSc programme will take place from 1 September 2012 to 31 August 2013 at the ISU central Campus, in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, France.

The UK Space Agency will consider the applications submitted to ISU, and may request further information and/or interview candidates.
Chris Brunskill, an ISU student who received funding from the UK Space Agency for the 2011 Space Studies Programme in Austria, said, “During the programme I had the chance to take lectures provided by leading experts in the many disciplines that make up the modern space industry. I was able to get hands on experience with technical equipment and participate in the planning of a live mission. I was also able to work with a fantastic, proactive and intelligent group of fellow participants from around the world. A total of £30,000 is available in this scheme in 2012. This sum will be shared between successful candidates - the level of any grant awarded being decided by a panel including members from the UK Space Agency and the Space Education Trust in consultation with ISU. Evidence of external support will be a positive factor in choosing which applicants to fund. Any money awarded will be paid directly to ISU on behalf of the successful applicants.
ISU may be able to advise on the possibility of further funding, but it is expected that each successful applicant will have to find at least €1000 from their own resources.
